Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 Nay, I swear by the accusing soul (that this Scripture is true). 2 Deemest man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Indeed, We have the power to restore his very finger tips! 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 He asks, "When will be the Day of Judgment?" 6 But [on that Day,] when the eyesight is by fear confounded, 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 And the sun and moon will be joined together (by going one into the other or folded up or deprived of their light, etc.) 9 on that Day will man exclaim "Whither to flee?" 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 On that day, the station is only towards your Lord. 12 On that Day, man will be told of all that he has sent before and what he has left behind. 13 nay, man shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 Though he puts forth his excuses. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 Verily upon us is the collecting thereof and the reciting thereof. 17 Thus, when We recite it, follow thou its wording [with all thy mind]: 18 Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it. 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 and leave be the Hereafter. 21 (Some) faces on that day shall be bright, 22 Looking at their Lord. 23 Others will be despondent, 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 And it will be said: "Who can cure him and save him from death?" 27 And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting 28 And one shank is entangled with the other shank. 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30
