The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
