۞ And when the son of Maryam is held up, an example, behold! thy people thereat cry out. 57 and say: 'What, are our gods better, or is he?' They do not mention him to you except to dispute, truly, they are a contentious nation. 58 He (Prophet Jesus) was only a worshiper whom We favored and We made him an example to the Children of Israel. 59 If We pleased We could have put angels in place of you as trustees on the earth. 60 AND, BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a means to know [that] the Last Hour [is bound to come]; hence, have no doubt whatever about it, but follow Me: this [alone] is a straight way. 61 and do not let satan prevent you, for he is your clear enemy. 62 When Jesus came with Clear Signs and said: “I have brought wisdom to you that I may make plain to you some of the things you differ about. So fear Allah and follow me. 63 Lo! Allah, He is my Lord and your Lord. So worship Him. This is a right path. 64 But the factions differed among themselves. Woe alas to the sinners for the torment of the grievous Day! 65 Are they merely waiting for the Hour, which will come upon them suddenly and take them unawares? 66 On that Day even bosom friends shall become enemies to one another, all except the God-fearing. 67
