The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I swear by the runners breathing pantingly, 1 And strike sparks of fire, 2 And push home the charge in the morning, 3 And raise the dust in clouds the while, 4 And cleaving their way therein into the host, 5 Truly man is, to his Lord, ungrateful; 6 To this he himself shall bear witness. 7 Surely, he is ardent in his love of wealth. 8 ۞ Knoweth he not that, when the contents of the graves are poured forth 9 and that which is in the breasts is brought out -- 10 surely on that day their Lord shall be aware of them! 11
