The Ant (Al-Naml)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Ta. Sin. These are the verses of the Quran and of the illustrious Book 1 A guide (to the Right Path); and glad tidings for the believers [who believe in the Oneness of Allah (i.e. Islamic Monotheism)]. 2 who are constant in prayer and spend in charity: for it is they, they who in their innermost are certain of the life to come! 3 As to those who believe not in the Hereafter, We have made their deeds pleasing in their eyes; and so they wander about in distraction. 4 Such are those for whom there is an evil punishment, and in the Everlasting Life are the greatest losers. 5 (Muhammad), you have certainly received the Quran from the All-wise and All-knowing One. 6 When Moses said to his household: 'Indeed, I can see a fire far away. I will go and bring you news of it or I will bring you a lighted flame so that you can warm yourselves' 7 But when he came close to it, a call was sounded: "Blessed are all who are within [reach of] this fire, and all who are near it! And limitless in His glory is God, the Sustainer of all the worlds!" 8 O Musa! verily it is I, Allah, the Mighty the Wise! 9 Throw down your staff." When he saw it wriggling like a serpent he turned his back and fled without turning (to look). "O Moses," (said the voice), "be not fearful. Surely those sent as messengers do not fear in My presence, 10 Except those who do some wrong but afterwards do good to make up for the wrong. And I am forgiving and merciful. 11 Now put your hand into your bosom, and it will come forth shining without any blemish. (These are two of the) nine Signs to be carried to Pharaoh and his people. They are surely a wicked people." 12 But when Our signs came to them visibly, they said, 'This is a manifest sorcery'; 13 They denied them unjustly out of pride, though their souls acknowledged them. See, how was the end of the corrupt workers! 14
