If thou couldst but see [how it will be on Judgment Day,] when those who are lost in sin will hang their heads before their Sustainer, [saying:] "O our Sustainer! [Now] we have seen, and we have heard! Return us, then, [to our earthly life] that we may do good deeds: for [now,] behold, we are certain [of the truth]!" 12 And had We listed surely We could have given every soul its guidance; but true must be the word from Me; I shall surely fill Hell with the jinn and mankind together. 13 “Therefore taste the recompense of your forgetting the confronting of this day of yours; We have abandoned you – now taste the everlasting punishment, the recompense of your deeds!” 14 Only those who believe in Our verses, when reminded of them, prostrate themselves and exalt with the praise of their Lord in humility; ۩ 15 Their sides give-up rest in beds in order to pray before their Lord in fear and hope. They spend for the cause of God out of what we have given them. 16 No soul knoweth what is kept hid for them of joy, as a reward for what they used to do. 17 Would a true believer be like him who was an evil-doer? Surely they are not equal. 18 As for those who believe and do good, the gardens are their abiding-place; an entertainment for what they did. 19 but as for those who are lost in iniquity - their goal is the fire: as oft as they will try to come out of it, they will be thrown back into it; and they will be told, "Taste [now] this suffering through fire which you were wont to call a lie!" 20 And most certainly We will make them taste of the nearer chastisement before the greater chastisement that haply they may turn. 21 And who is more unjust than he who is given good counsel through the Signs of his Lord and yet he turns away from them? Surely We will exact full retribution from such criminals. 22
