The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The Merciful One 1 It is He Who has taught the Qur'an. 2 He created the human 3 Taught him the mode of expression. 4 The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation, 5 And the herbs and the trees do prostrate (to Him). 6 And the heaven He has raised high, and He has set up the Balance. 7 In order that you may not corrupt the balance. 8 Give just weight and do not skimp the scales. 9 And the earth He laid [out] for the creatures. 10 Therein is fruit and palms having sheathed clusters, 11 And also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-scented plants. 12 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 13 He created man of clay like, unto pottery. 14 And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke: 15 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 16 [He is] the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunrise, and the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunset. 17 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 18 He has let loosed the two seas (the salt water and the sweet) meeting together. 19 [yet] between them is a barrier which they may not transgress. 20 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 21 From them come forth the pearl and the coral. 22 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 23 His are the high-sailed vessels in deep ocean like the mountains. 24 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 25
