Have you seen the one who turned away 33 And gave a little and [then] refrained? 34 Does he have knowledge of the hidden, so he can foresee? 35 Has he not been informed of what is in the Scrolls of Moses, 36 And with Abraham who kept his word: 37 That no one who carries a burden bears another's load; 38 That man can have nothing but what he strives for; 39 and that in time [the nature of] all his striving will be shown [to him in its true light,] 40 And only then will he receive his recompense in full; 41 and that the final end is with your Lord, 42 that it is He who brings laughter and tears; 43 That it is He Who granteth Death and Life; 44 and He it is Who created the two kinds, the male and the female, 45 from a discharged living germ 46 And that upon Him (Allah) is another bringing forth (Resurrection); 47 And that it is He who enriches and suffices 48 And that He it is Who is the Lord of Sirius; 49 And that He destroyed the first [people of] 'Aad 50 And (the tribe of) Thamud He spared not; 51 And the people of Nuh before; surely they were most unjust and inordinate; 52 and He overthrew the subverted cities [of Sodom and Gomorrah] 53 And covered them by that which He covered. 54 Which then of thy Lord's benefits wilt thou doubt? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 that [Last Hour] which is so near draws ever nearer, 57 none except Allah can disclose it. 58 Do you then wonder at this announcement? 59 And laugh and not weep, 60 Wasting your time in vanities? 61 So fall you down in prostration to Allah, and worship Him (Alone). ۩ 62
