Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection, 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Indeed yes, We are able to shape his fingerstips yet again! 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 So when the eyes will be blinded by light. 7 and the moon is darkened, 8 And the sun and moon are joined together,- 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 unto thy Lord that Day is the recourse. 12 On that day, man will be informed of all what he sent ahead and left behind. 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 We shall be responsible for its collection and its recitation. 17 And so when We recite it, follow its recitation attentively; 18 then it will be for Us to explain it. 19 No indeed; but you love the hasty world, 20 And you have forsaken the Hereafter. 21 [Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 And how many faces on that Day will be woe-begone 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 And there will be a cry, "Who is a magician (to restore him)?" 27 And he (the dying person) will conclude that it was (the time) of departing (death); 28 And the leg is wound about the leg, 29 To your Lord then will be the driving. 30
