(O Prophet), did you see him who turned away (from the Path of Allah), 33 And he gave a little, then refrained? 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the Unseen, and therefore he sees? 35 Or, has he not been informed of what is in the scriptures of Musa? 36 And [of] Abraham, who fulfilled [his obligations] - 37 To wit, that a burthened soul shall not bear the burthen of another. 38 And that for man shall be naught save that wherefor he endeavoureth. 39 and that [the fruit of] his striving shall soon be seen; 40 Then will he be rewarded with a reward complete; 41 And that the end is only towards your Lord? 42 And that it is He who makes [one] laugh and weep 43 and that it is He alone who deals death and grants life; 44 And that He created pairs, the male and the female 45 from a drop of sperm when it was emitted, 46 and that it is for Him to grant the second life, 47 And that it is He Who has given wealth and contentment? 48 And that He only is the Lord of the star Sirius? 49 It was He who totally destroyed the former 'Ad 50 And that Thamud! He left not. 51 and that He it is Who destroyed the people of Noah before for they were much given to iniquity and transgression. 52 And the subverted cities He overthrew. 53 so that there came upon them that which came. 54 Then which of thy Lord's bounties disputest thou? 55 He (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) is a Herald of Warning, like the former Heralds of Warning. 56 The Approaching Day has approached. 57 No (soul) but Allah can lay it bare. 58 Do you then wonder at this announcement? 59 And laugh and not weep, 60 while you are thoughtless? 61 [Nay,] but prostrate yourselves before God, and worship [Him alone]! ۩ 62
