Al-Muddath-thir 2 of 2
Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 By the receding night 33 and the morn when it dawns! 34 Verily, that [hell-fire] is Indeed one of the great [forewarnings] 35 it is a warning to man, 36 alike to every one of you, who want to go forward or hang back. 37 Every soul is held in pledge against its own deeds, 38 Save the fellows of the right. 39 in Gardens they will question 40 From the guilty. 41 'What caused you to be thrust into the Scorching (Fire)' 42 They will answer: “We were not among those who observed Prayer, 43 “Nor used to feed the needy.” 44 And plunged into useless things with those who were obstinate, 45 And we have been belying the Day of Requital. 46 until the inevitable event overtook us.” 47 The mediation of no mediators will avail them then. 48 What is the matter with people that they are turning away from this Exhortation, 49 as if they were startled asses 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay, everyone of them desires that he should be given pages spread out (coming from Allah with a writing that Islam is the right religion, and Muhammad SAW has come with the truth from Allah the Lord of the heavens and earth, etc.). 52 Nay! but they do not fear the hereafter. 53 Nay! it is surely an admonition. 54 Let him who will take heed: 55 But none will keep it in remembrance except as Allah wills: He is the Lord of Righteousness, and the Lord of Forgiveness. 56

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
