The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 by those that swim serenely 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 So he showed him the great sign, 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
