The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord, and it must needs (do so);- 2 And when the earth is spread out. 3 And it unburdens itself of all that is in it, and becomes empty. 4 obeying its Lord, as it must do! 5 Human being, you strive hard to get closer to your Lord, and so you will certainly receive the recompense (of your deeds). 6 And he who is given his ledger in his right hand 7 He shall be reckoned with by an easy reckoning, 8 and will return rejoicing to his family. 9 But he who is given his ledger from behind his back 10 He will cry out for destruction 11 and he shall roast at a Blaze. 12 They lived among their people joyfully 13 He assumed that he does not have to return. 14 Yes indeed, his Lord was ever watching him. 15 But nay! I swear by the sunset redness, 16 And by the night and that which it driveth together, 17 and the moon when it is at the full, 18 You will surely go up level by level. 19 What, then, is amiss with them that they will not believe [in a life to come]? 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 But those who have disbelieved deny, 22 And Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves. 23 (Muhammad), tell them that they will all suffer a painful torment 24 except the righteously striving believers, who will receive a never-ending reward. 25
