and We delivered the Children of Israel from the humbling chastisement, 30 Inflicted by Pharaoh, for he was arrogant (even) among inordinate transgressors. 31 And assuredly We elected them with knowledge above the worlds. 32 and sent them revelations of which some were a clear trial for them. 33 Lo! these, forsooth, are saying: 34 There is naught but our first death, and we shall not be raised again. 35 Then bring [back] our forefathers, if you should be truthful." 36 Are these better or the people of Tubba and those who went before them? We destroyed them for they were a criminal people. 37 And We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is in-between the twain sporting. 38 We did not create them except with the truth, but most of them do not know. 39 Surely the Day of Decision shall be their appointed time, all together, 40 The day on which a friend shall not avail (his) friend aught, nor shall they be helped, 41 save those upon whom God will have bestowed His grace and mercy: for, verily, He alone is almighty, a dispenser of grace. 42
