Observedest thou him who turned away? 33 And he gave a little, then refrained? 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the Unseen, and therefore he sees? 35 Has he not been informed of what is in the Scrolls of Moses, 36 And of Ibrahim (Abraham) who fulfilled (or conveyed) all that (what Allah ordered him to do or convey), 37 That no burdened soul bears another soul’s burden? 38 nor can man achieve anything without hard labor. 39 And that his deeds will be seen, 40 Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense 41 and that the final end is with your Lord, 42 And that it is He (Allah) Who makes (whom He wills) laugh, and makes (whom He wills) weep; 43 and that it is He alone who deals death and grants life; 44 That He created pairs, male and female, 45 of a sperm-drop, when it was cast forth, 46 That He hath promised a Second Creation (Raising of the Dead); 47 And that it is He Who enricheth and preserveth property. 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius. 49 that it was He that destroyed ancient Aad 50 And Thamud, and did not leave them, 51 And before them, the people of Nooh? Indeed they were more unjust and more rebellious than these! 52 He plunged the villages 53 So they were covered with whatever covered them? 54 So, which of your Lord's bounties will you doubt?” 55 This is a (Prophet) like that of the ancient warners (Prophets). 56 The approaching event has come near. 57 None besides Allah can avert it, (or advance it, or delay it). 58 At this discourse then marvel ye? 59 And you laugh, and do not weep! 60 Indulging in pleasantries? 61 Prostrate yourselves before God, and worship Him alone! ۩ 62
