The News (Al-Naba')
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Of what ask they? 1 About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.), 2 About which they cannot agree. 3 No! They are going to know. 4 Then, no! They are going to know. 5 Have We not made the earth a resting place? 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 And We have created you in pairs. 8 And made your sleep for rest, 9 And made the night a cover. 10 and We appointed day for a livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 12 And placed (therein) a Light of Splendour? 13 And do We not send down from the clouds water in abundance, 14 so that We may bring forth thereby grain and a variety of plants, 15 and gardens dense with foliage? 16 Verily, the Day of Decision is a fixed time, 17 the Day that the Horn is blown, and you shall come in crowds 18 And the heaven will be opened – it therefore becomes like gates. 19 and when the mountains are made to vanish as if they had been a mirage. 20 Hell will lie in wait (for its prey). 21 a home for the transgressors, 22 where they shall remain for ages, 23 and where they will taste neither coolness nor any drink 24 Except hot boiling water and hot pus discharged from the people of hell. 25 as a fitting recompense for their deeds. 26 They did not expect such a Judgment 27 And they belied Our revelations with strong belying. 28 We have kept account of everything in a book. 29 Therefore taste it now – We shall not increase anything for you except the punishment. 30
