The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 (It is) the star of piercing brightness; 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 He was created from a fluid, ejected, 6 Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs: 7 Verily, (Allah) is Able to bring him back (to life)! 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 Then will he have no might nor any helper. 10 By the sky which returns [rain] 11 And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants), 12 Verily, it is a discourse distinguishing. 13 it is no merriment. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 and I am devising guile. 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
