Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ The indubitable event! 1 And what is that indubitable event? 2 And what could make thee conceive what that laying-bare of the truth will be? 3 Thamud and 'Aad denied the Striking Calamity. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the awful cry! 5 and as for Ad, they were destroyed by a wind clamorous, 6 Which He made to prevail against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you might have seen the people therein prostrate as if they were the trunks of hollow palms. 7 Beholdest thou any of them remaining? 8 And there was Pharaoh, too, and [many of] those who lived before him, and the cities that were overthrown - [all of them] indulged in sin upon sin 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, therefor did He grip them with a tightening grip. 10 Verily when the water rose to great heights, We bore you upon a floating vessel (i.e. the Ark) 11 So that We may make it a reminder to you, and that the retaining ear might retain it. 12 With the first blast of sound from the trumpet, 13 and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and then crushed with a single blow, 14 On that Day shall the (Great) Event come to pass. 15 And the heaven shall be rent in sunder, it on that Day shall be frail. 16 And the angels will be on its sides, and eight angels will, that Day, bear the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 That Day, you will be exhibited [for judgement]; not hidden among you is anything concealed. 18 So as for he who is given his record in his right hand, he will say, "Here, read my record! 19 I was certain I'll be given my account." 20 Then he shall find himself in a life of bliss; 21 in a high Garden, 22 The fruit clusters of which are hanging down. 23 Eat and drink at ease for that which you have sent on before you in days past! 24 However, those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their left hands will say, "We wish that this record had never been given to us 25 and that we would never knew what our records contained. 26 I wish my death had been the decisive one. 27 My wealth has been of no use to me. 28 and my authority has been destroyed' 29 (A command will be issued): “Seize him and shackle him, 30 Then throw him in the blazing Fire. 31 "Then fasten him with a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits!" 32 He did not believe in Allah, the Great, 33 And urged not on the feeding of Al-Miskin (the poor), 34 and so, no friend has here today, 35 neither any food saving foul pus, 36 None will eat except the Khati'un (sinners, disbelievers, polytheists, etc.). 37
