Nay, by the Moon 32 By the night when it departs. 33 And the daybreak when it shines; 34 Indeed hell is one of the greatest entities. 35 A warning to mankind, 36 to whoever among you desires to go forward, or lag behind. 37 Every soul is mortgaged for its own deeds. 38 save the Companions of the Right; 39 who will be in Paradise 40 About the criminals, 41 'What thrusted you into Sakar?' 42 They will say: "We were not of those who prayed; 43 And we have not been feeding the poor. 44 We used to wade (in vain dispute) with (all) waders, 45 And we used to deny the Day of Recompense 46 "Until there came to us (the death) that is certain." 47 The intercession of the intercessors will be of no benefit to them. 48 What is the matter with them that they turn away from this Reminder, 49 As though they were asses startled. 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay, every man of them desires to be -- given -- scrolls unrolled. 52 This will certainly never be the case! In fact, they are not afraid of the Day of Judgment. 53 Nay, this surely is an admonition: 54 so whoever wills shall remember it. 55 And they shall not heed unless Allah willeth. He is the Lord of piety, and the Lord of forgiveness. 56
