The men of the Thicket cried lies to the Envoys 176 Shu'aib said to them: 'Will you not be cautious? 177 Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you, 178 So fear Allah and obey me. 179 “And I do not ask from you any fee for it; my reward is only upon the Lord Of The Creation.” 180 ۞ Give full measure, and cause no loss to others. 181 and weigh with the straight scale, 182 And do not wrong men of their things, and do not act corruptly in the earth, making mischief. 183 And guard against (the punishment of) Him who created you and the former nations. 184 They said: thou art but of the bewitched; 185 "You are but a human being like us and verily, we think that you are one of the liars! 186 Therefore cause a portion of the heaven to come down upon us, if you are one of the truthful. 187 He said: "My Lord knows best what ye do." 188 They rejected him and then the torment of the gloomy day struck them. It was certainly a great torment. 189 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 190 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 191
