Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection]. 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Yea! WE are Able to put together evenly his finger-tips. 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 He asks: “When will the Day of Resurrection be?” 6 Yet when the eyes are dazzled, 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together 9 On that Day man will say: "Where (is the refuge) to flee?" 10 Never so, for there will be no escape. 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat that Day. 12 On that day man is told the tale of that which he hath sent before and left behind. 13 In fact, man himself is keeping an eye on his state of affairs! 14 And even if he presents all the excuses he has, none will be listened to. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 So, when We recite it, follow thou its recitation. 18 Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it. 19 Human beings certainly do not want to pay much attention to the Quran. In fact, they love the worldly life 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 22 Looking at their Lord (Allah); 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them; 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 and when it is asked: "Could any magician save him now?"; 27 And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting; 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
