Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I swear by the emissary winds, sent one after another (for men's benefit), 1 Which then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts, 2 by the scatterers scattering 3 And by the Verses (of the Quran) that separate the right from the wrong. 4 and those hurling a reminder 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 Thus, [it will come to pass] when the stars are effaced, 8 and the sky is rent asunder, 9 when the mountains shall be scattered 10 and when all the apostles are called together at a time appointed... 11 To what day is the doom fixed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 What will explain to you what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Did We not destroy the men of old (for their evil)? 16 Then We will follow them with the later ones. 17 thus do We deal with the culprits. 18 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 19 Did We not create you from a base fluid 20 that We laid within a sure lodging 21 For a period (of gestation), determined (according to need)? 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle? 25 the living and the dead? 26 And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water. 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 Proceed to that (the Day of Judgment) which you have rejected. 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 wherein there is neither shade, nor freeing from the blazing flames 31 Verily! It (Hell) throws sparks (huge) as Al-Qasr [a fort or a Qasr (huge log of wood)], 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 34 This is a day in which they will not be able to speak. 35 nor will they be allowed to proffer excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 If now ye have any craft, try that craft upon Me. 39 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 40
