The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers 1 who are humble in their prayers; 2 And who shun vain conversation, 3 And who are givers of poor-rate, 4 Who abstain from sex, 5 Except before their mates or those whom their right hands possess, for they surely are not blameable, 6 But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors - 7 (Prosperous are those) who preserve their trusts and pledges 8 And those who of their prayers are observant. 9 These will be the heirs, 10 Who will inherit al-Firdaus. They will abide therein eternally. 11 Verily We created man from a product of wet earth; 12 Thereafter We made him of a sperm in a receptacle safe. 13 Thereafter We created the sperm a clot; then We created the clot a lump of flesh; then We created the lump of flesh bones; then We clothed the bones with flesh: thereafter We brought him forth as another creature. Blest then be Allah, the Best of creators! 14 And then, behold! after all this, you are destined to die; 15 and be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And We created above you seven ways, and We were not heedless of creation. 17 We send down water from the sky in determined measure, and store it up in the earth; and We have power to drain it away. 18 Then We brought forth for you therewith gardens of date-palms and grapes, wherein is much fruit for you, and whereof you eat. 19 And also a tree that springeth forth from mount Sinai, that groweth oil and is a sauce for the eaters. 20 And lo! in the cattle there is verily a lesson for you. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and many uses have ye in them, and of them do ye eat; 21 And you are carried on them and on boats. 22
