1/2 Hizb 45

۞ (And it is said unto the angels): Assemble those who did wrong, together with their wives and what they used to worship 22 apart from Allah, and direct them to the path of Hell, 23 And stop them; verily they are to be questioned: 24 'But what is the matter with you that you cannot help one another?,'" 25 In fact this day they have all surrendered. 26 And some of them draw near unto others, mutually questioning. 27 (The followers will say to their leaders): “You used to come to us from the right hand.” 28 They will say: nay! ye yourselves were not believers. 29 And we had over you no authority, but you were a transgressing people. 30 So the sentence of our Lord has come to pass against us: (now) we shall surely taste; 31 we perverted you, indeed, we were perverts' 32 On that day they will all share the torment. 33 Thus do We treat the culprits. 34 Verily when it was said unto them: there is no god but Allah, they ever grew stiff-necked. 35 and would say: "Shall we, then, give up our deities at the bidding of a mad poet?" 36 Nay: he has come with the truth and verified the apostles. 37 (They will be told), "You will certainly suffer the painful torment 38 and not be recompensed, except according to what you were doing.' 39 But the chosen servants of God; 40 there is waiting for them a known provision; 41 Fruits. And they will be honoured 42 In gardens of pleasure, 43 Facing each other on Thrones (of Dignity): 44 A cup from a gushing spring is brought round for them, 45 white, sparkling (wine), a delight to the drinkers. 46 but not harmful or intoxicating. 47 And with them will be chaste females, restraining their glances (desiring none except their husbands), with wide and beautiful eyes. 48 As if they were eggs, safely hidden. 49 Then shall some of them advance to others, questioning each other. 50 A speaker of them will say: "Verily, I had a companion (in the world), 51 who used to say: -- Are you also one of those who confirm the Truth (of life after death)? 52 (Do you think) we would be paid back our due when we are dead and reduced to dust and bones?' 53 He saith: Will ye look? 54 Then looketh he and seeth him in the depth of hell. 55 He said: "By Allah! You have nearly ruined me. 56 "Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I should certainly have been among those brought (there)! 57 So, are we not going to die, 58 except for our first death, and are we not chastised? 59 This is certainly the greatest triumph 60 For the like of it should the workers work. 61 Is Paradise a better accommodation or the tree of zaqqum? 62 We have appointed it as a trial for the evildoers. 63 For it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hellfire: 64 Its spathes are like the heads of satans. 65 and they [who are lost in evil] are indeed bound to eat thereof, and to fill their bellies therewith. 66 And afterward, lo! thereupon they have a drink of boiling water 67 then their return is to Hell. 68 Truly they found their fathers on the wrong Path; 69 Yet they hasten to follow in their footsteps. 70 Thus, indeed, most of the people of old went astray before them, 71 And indeed We sent among them warners (Messengers); 72 and behold what happened in the end to those that had been warned [to no avail]! 73 Not so the chosen servants of God. 74
