Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Resurrection Verifier; 1 What is the Inevitable? 2 And what have you understood, how tremendous the true event is! 3 The tribes of Thamud and A’ad denied the event of great dismay. (The Day of Resurrection) 4 Now as for the Thamud - they were destroyed by a violent upheaval [of the earth]; 5 And as for 'Aad, they were destroyed by a screaming, violent wind 6 Which Allah imposed upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so you would see the people therein fallen as if they were hollow trunks of palm trees. 7 Do you see any remnants of them? 8 And Pharaoh and those before him, and the communities that were destroyed, brought error, 9 and rebelled against their Sustainer's apostles: and so He took them to task with a punishing grasp exceedingly severe! 10 Lo! when the waters rose, We carried you upon the ship 11 so that We might make it an instructive event for you, and retentive ears might preserve its memory. 12 Hence, [bethink yourselves of the Last Hour,] when the trumpet [of judgment] shall be sounded with a single blast, 13 and the earth and the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with a single stroke! 14 On that Day will come what is to come. 15 The sky will cleave asunder on that day and fall to pieces. 16 and the angels shall stand upon its borders, and upon that day eight shall carry above them the Throne of thy Lord. 17 On that day you shall be exposed, not one secret of yours concealed. 18 On that Day, he whose Record is given to him in his right hand will say: “Lo! Read my Record! 19 Certainly I thought that I should encounter my reckoning.' 20 Then he shall find himself in a life of bliss; 21 In an elevated garden, 22 with fruits within easy reach. 23 (They will be told): “Eat and drink with good cheer as a reward for the good deeds you did in the days that have passed by.” 24 And whoever is given his book in his left hand – he will say, “Alas, if only my account were not given to me!” 25 "And that I had never realised how my account (stood)! 26 Would that death had taken us away for good. 27 My wealth has not availed me. 28 My power hath gone from me. 29 "Seize him and manacle him, 30 then throw them into hell to be heated up therein. 31 Fasten a chain to them - seventy cubits long - 32 "This was he that would not believe in Allah Most High. 33 Nor did he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 That is why he has no friend today, 35 Nor any food except from the discharge of wounds; 36 that none excepting the sinners eat.' 37
