Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Say: It has been revealed to me that a party of the jinn listened, and they said: Surely we have heard a wonderful Quran, 1 guiding towards consciousness of what is right; and so we have come to believe in it. And we shall never ascribe divinity to anyone beside our Sustainer, 2 And that He-- exalted be the majesty of our Lord-- has not taken a consort, nor a son: 3 And that our foolish one has been saying about Allah an excessive transgression. 4 And lo! we had supposed that humankind and jinn would not speak a lie concerning Allah - 5 'True, there were persons among mankind who took shelter with persons among the Jinns, but they increased them in folly. 6 They thought, as you did, that God would never raise up anyone from the dead. 7 'And we pried into the secrets of heaven; but we found it filled with stern guards and flaming fires. 8 we used to take up a position to listen, but whoever listens now finds a flaming fire lying in wait for him -- 9 ‘And we do not know whether harm is intended for those on the earth, or whether their Lord intends goodness for them.’ 10 And some of us are the righteous, and some of us are otherwise; we are sects differing. 11 We realised that we could not weaken the power of God on earth, nor outpace Him by running away. 12 'And indeed when we heard the Guidance (this Quran), we believed therein (Islamic Monotheism), and whosoever believes in his Lord shall have no fear, either of a decrease in the reward of his good deeds or an increase in punishment for his sins. 13 And among us are Muslims [in submission to Allah], and among us are the unjust. And whoever has become Muslim - those have sought out the right course. 14 but as for those who have deviated, they have become firewood for Gehenna!"' 15 If they (the idolaters) tread the right path, We shall give them to drink of water in abundance 16 and tested them with it. And whosoever turns away from his Lord's Remembrance, He will hurl him into a stern punishment. 17 And the places of worship are only for Allah, so pray not unto anyone along with Allah. 18 And when the bondman of Allah stood calling upon Him, they well nigh pressed on him stifling. 19
