The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 While eyes are downcast 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 It will be only one scaring shout, 13 and behold! They will all come out in the open. 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
