Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Certainly the news of the calamity that will overwhelm has come to you! 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated, 2 Labouring (hard), weary,- 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 their drink shall be from a boiling spring. 5 No food for them save the bitterness of dry thorns, 6 which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 However, on that day the faces of other people will be happy. 8 Pleased with their striving,- 9 in a sublime Garden, 10 wherein they shall hear no vain talk. 11 There is a stream of running water in it; 12 And within it are couches placed on high, 13 and goblets set forth 14 and cushions ranged, 15 And rich carpets spread. 16 Do (these unbelievers) not observe the camels: how they were created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 how the mountains are set firm, 19 how the earth was outstretched? 20 Therefore do thou give admonition, for thou art one to admonish. 21 You are not a dictator over them. 22 But whoever will turn away (from the Truth), 23 Him Allah shall torment with the greatest torment. 24 Surely to Us is their turning back, 25 Then verily, for Us will be their reckoning. 26
