The Night (Al-Layl)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the Night as it conceals (the light); 1 And [by] the day when it appears 2 and by that (Power) which created the male and female, 3 Verily, [O men,] you aim at most divergent ends! 4 We shall facilitate the path to bliss 5 And testifieth to the Good, 6 So We will very soon provide him ease. 7 As for him who was a miser and behaved with aversion (to Allah), 8 and denied the Truth of goodness: 9 We will make smooth for him the path for evil; 10 and their wealth will be of no benefit to them when they face destruction. 11 Surely Ours is it to show the way, 12 And indeed the Hereafter and this world both belong to Us. 13 So, I warn you of the blazing Fire. 14 in which none shall be roasted except the most wretched sinner, 15 who belied and turned away, 16 But save him who fears 17 Who gives his wealth in order to be pure. 18 And who hath no favour from anyone to recompense. 19 only seeking the Face of his Lord the Most High; 20 He will surely be well-pleased (with him). 21
