Thus did We deliver the Children of Israel from the humiliating chastisement, 30 from Pharaoh; surely he was a high One, of the prodigals; 31 We knowingly chose them above all other people 32 and gave them signs wherein there was a manifest trial. 33 Verily these! they say: 34 "That [which is ahead of us] is but our first [and only] death, and we shall not be raised to life again. 35 “Therefore bring back our forefathers, if you are truthful!” 36 What! Are they better than the people of Tubba and those who were before them? We destroyed them because they were guilty of sin. 37 It was not in idle sport that We created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. 38 We did not create them save with a purpose, yet most people have no knowledge of this. 39 Surely the Day of Decision shall be their appointed time, all together, 40 The Day when Maulan (a near relative) cannot avail Maulan (a near relative) in aught, and no help can they receive, 41 Except those [believers] on whom Allah has mercy. Indeed, He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 42
