The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 and the night that falls, 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 with strength endowed, secure with Him who in almightiness is enthroned 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
