Have you not seen how your Lord lengthens out the shadow? He could have kept it motionless if He liked. Yet We make the sun its pilot to show the way. 45 Then We withdraw it to Us a gradual concealed withdrawal. 46 And it is He who has made the night for you as clothing and sleep [a means for] rest and has made the day a resurrection. 47 And He it is Who sends the winds as good news before His mercy; and We send down pure water from the cloud, 48 That We may give life thereby to a dead land, and We give to drink thereof many of the cattle and men that We had created. 49 We send them rain from time to time so that they may take heed. Many people have responded, but ungratefully. 50 Had it been Our Will, We could have sent a warner to every centre of population. 51 So do not listen to unbelievers, and strive against them with greater effort. 52 ۞ And it is He who has released [simultaneously] the two seas, one fresh and sweet and one salty and bitter, and He placed between them a barrier and prohibiting partition. 53 It is He Who has created man from water: then has He established relationships of lineage and marriage: for thy Lord has power (over all things). 54 And yet they worship besides God what cannot bring them gain or do them harm. The unbeliever has always been an auxiliary against his Lord. 55 And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], except as a bringer of good tidings and a warner. 56 Say, "I do not ask you for any recompense for this except that anyone who so wishes should take the right path to his Lord." 57 Also trust in the Living One who never dies and glorify Him with His praise. He has sufficient knowledge of the sins of His servants. 58 He who created the heavens and the earth and what is between them in six days and then established Himself above the Throne - the Most Merciful, so ask about Him one well informed. 59 But when they are told, 'Bow yourselves to the All-merciful,' they say, 'And what is the All-merciful? Shall we bow ourselves to what thou biddest us?' And it increases them in aversion. ۩ 60
