In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Ya Sin. 1 By the Quran, full of wisdom, 2 verily, thou art indeed one of God's message-bearers, 3 On a Straight Path (i.e. on Allah's religion of Islamic Monotheism). 4 This is a revelation sent down from the Majestic and All-merciful 5 That thou mayst warn a folk whose fathers were not warned, so they are heedless. 6 Indeed, the word [of God's condemnation] is bound to come true against most of them: for they will not believe. 7 We have put yokes round their necks right up to their chins, so that they cannot bow their heads 8 And We shall raise a barrier in front of them and a barrier behind them, and cover them over so that they will not be able to see. 9 And it is the same for them, whether you warn them or do not warn them – they will not believe. 10 You can only warn him who listens to the warning and fears Ar-Rahman secretly. So give him good news of forgiveness and a generous reward. 11 Verily We! We shall quicken the dead. And We write down that which they send before and their footsteps. And everything We have counted up in a Book luminous. 12

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
