The Moon (Al-Qamar)
55 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Comet (Al-Taareq) before S (Saad)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
The Hour of Doom is drawing near and the moon is rent asunder. 1 And if they see a miracle they turn aside and say: Transient magic. 2 And deny, and follow their own vain desires; but every matter is determined at its time. 3 Surely there came to them narratives (of the ancient nations) that should suffice to deter (them from transgression), 4 Wisdom consummate. But warnings avail not. 5 turn thou away from them. On the Day when the Summoning Voice will summon [man] unto something that the mind cannot conceive, 6 They will come out of the graves with downcast eyes like an expanding swarm of locusts. 7 Hastening toward the summoner. The infidels will say: this is a day diffrcult. 8 ۞ The people of Noah had denied before them, and had called Our votary a liar, and said: "He is possessed," and repulsed him. 9 So he invoked his Lord, "Indeed, I am overpowered, so help." 10 So We opened the gates of heaven, with water pouring forth. 11 and We made the earth burst forth with springs, and all this water converged to fulfil that which had been decreed. 12 And We bore Noah on the vessel built of planks and nails, 13 and it floated under Our eyes: a recompense for him who had been rejected with ingratitude. 14 We have left this as a sign: but will anyone take heed? 15 So how dreadful have been My torment and My warning! 16 And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember? 17 The tribe of A’ad denied so how did My punishment turn out, and My warnings? 18 Indeed, We sent upon them a screaming wind on a day of continuous misfortune, 19 Carrying men away as though they were trunks of palm-trees uprooted. 20 How terrible was Our torment and the result of (their disregard) of Our warning. 21 Hence, indeed, We made this Qur'an easy to bear in mind: who, then, is willing to take it to heart? 22

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
ColorfulQuran.com displays pages in one of three Arabic fonts. Each may appear with a one-third chance, adding more diversity to the already diverse colors. And the words remain unchanged forever. ColorfulQuran.com will have more beautiful fonts soon, God willing.
