The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The Compassionate. 1 has taught the Quran to (Muhammad). 2 He created man. 3 and He taught him speech. 4 The sun and the moon follow courses (exactly) computed; 5 and the stars and the trees bow themselves; 6 And Allah has raised the sky; and He has set the balance. 7 so that you should not transgress the measure. 8 So establish weight with justice and fall not short in the balance. 9 And earth -- He set it down for all beings, 10 Therein is fruit and date-palms, producing spathes (enclosing dates); 11 And also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-scented plants. 12 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 13 He created man from dry clay like earthen vessels, 14 and jinn from the many colored flames of fire. 15 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 16 Lord of the East and Lord of the West. 17 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 18 He let forth the two seas that meet together, 19 Between them is a barrier, which they do not overrun. 20 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 21 From both of them emerge pearl and coral. 22 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 23 His too are the ships that run, raised up in the sea like land-marks. 24 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 25

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
