Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ By the Day of Resurrection, 1 and nay, I swear by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man (a disbeliever) think that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 Yet man wants to deny what is ahead of him: 5 'When will the Day of Resurrection be' he asks, 6 So when the eyes will be blinded by light. 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 No! There is no refuge. 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an. 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 But when We have promulgated it, follow thou its recital (as promulgated): 18 Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof. 19 But no. You love this transient life, 20 and neglect the Hereafter. 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 Looking to their Lord. 23 And on that Day there shall be scowling faces, 24 so they might think the Calamity had been inflicted upon them. 25 No! When the soul has reached the collar bones 26 And they will say, “Is there any one – any magician?” 27 And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting; 28 And the leg is wound about the leg, 29 To your Lord then will be the driving. 30
