He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned (his) back, 1 Because there came to him the blind man (i.e. 'Abdullah bin Umm-Maktum, who came to the Prophet (Peace be upon him) while he was preaching to one or some of the Quraish chiefs). 2 And what do you know, he may be of the pure! 3 or yet remember, and the Reminder profit him. 4 As for him who considers himself free from need (of you), 5 to a rich man, 6 And you have nothing to lose if he does not become pure. 7 As for the one who comes to you earnestly (striving for guidance). 8 While he fears [Allah], 9 you pay no heed to him. 10 No indeed, this is a Reminder; 11 Let him who will, pay heed to it. 12 It is set down on honoured pages, 13 most exalted and purified, 14 In the hands of scribes 15 Noble and dutiful. 16 Accursed be man! How stubbornly he denies the Truth. 17 Of what did He create him? 18 Out of a drop of sperm He creates him, and thereupon determines his nature, 19 and then made the course of life easy for him, 20 Then He caused him to die and be buried 21 Then when He pleases, He will raise him to life again. 22 By no means hath he fulfilled what Allah hath commanded him. 23 So man must look at his food. 24 It is We Who pour forth water, pouring, 25 and split the earth, splitting, 26 And cause the grain to grow therein 27 and grape vines and vegetables, 28 olives, dates, 29 And gardens, dense with many trees, 30 And fruits and fodder: 31 for you and for your animals to enjoy. 32 When the trumpet sounds, 33 it will be such a day when a person will run away from his brother, 34 And from his mother and his father, 35 And from his wife and his children. 36 on that Day every man among them will have enough concern of his own -- 37 Some faces on that Day shall be beaming with happiness, 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 And many will be dust-begrimed, 40 and veiled with darkness. 41 Those are the disbelievers, the wicked. 42
Almighty Allah's Truth.

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
