The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 It is the shining star -- 3 There is no soul but has a protector over it. 4 So man must consider from what he has been created. 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, 7 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 and [man] will have neither strength nor helper! 10 Consider the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 by earth splitting with verdure, 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 It is not a thing for amusement. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 And I am plotting a plot. 16 So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile. 17
Almighty Allah's Truth.
