So, when the envoys came to the folk of Lot, 61 He said: "Verily! You are people unknown to me." 62 "We have come to you with news," they said, "of what your people doubt; 63 “And we have brought to you a true command, and indeed we are truthful.” 64 So set out with your family during a portion of the night and follow behind them and let not anyone among you look back and continue on to where you are commanded." 65 And We decreed for him that commandment, that the last remnant of those should be cut off in the morning. 66 The people of the town rejoicingly 67 He said: Surely these are my guests, therefore do not disgrace me, 68 “And fear Allah and do not disgrace me.” 69 They said: "Did we not forbid thee (to speak) for all and sundry?" 70 [Lot] said, "These are my daughters - if you would be doers [of lawful marriage]." 71 Verily, by your life (O Muhammad SAW), in their wild intoxication, they were wandering blindly. 72 and the Cry seized them at the sunrise, 73 and turned the land upside down, and rained down stones of baked clay. 74 Surely, in that there are signs for those who contemplate. 75 That town lies on a road which still exists. 76 Lo! therein is indeed a portent for believers. 77 And the Companions of the Wood were also wrong-doers; 78 We afflicted them with punishment. Both people had clear (divine) authority among them. 79
