'Ad (people) belied the Messengers. 123 When their brother Hud said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 124 I am a trustworthy messenger for you: 125 So fear Allah and obey me. 126 “And I do not ask from you any fee for it; my reward is only upon the Lord Of The Creation.” 127 Build ye on every eminence a landmark in vanity? 128 and erect castles hoping that you will live forever. 129 And when ye seize, ye seize like unto tyrants. 130 So fear you God, and obey you me; 131 "Yea, fear Him Who has bestowed on you freely all that ye know. 132 succoured you with flocks and sons, 133 gardens and fountains. 134 "Truly I fear for you the Penalty of a Great Day." 135 They said: "It is the same to us if you warn us or do not warn. 136 This is but a custom of the ancients. 137 and we shall not be chastised.' 138 So they belied him, and We destroyed them. Verily! In this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 139 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 140
