Q (Qaaf)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
QAF. I CALL to witness the glorious Qur'an. 1 Nay; they wondered that a warner should have come to them from among themselves. The unbelievers said: “This indeed is a strange thing. 2 to come back to life after we have died and become dust? That is most improbable!" 3 We know indeed what the earth diminishes of them, and with Us is a writing that preserves. 4 They gave the lie to the Truth when it came to them. So they are now in a state of great perplexity. 5 Have they not looked up to the heaven above them, in what wise We have constructed and bedecked it, and that therein is no rift? 6 And the earth! We have spread it out, and set thereon mountains standing firm, and have produced therein every kind of lovely growth (plants). 7 As instruction and reminder to every penitent creature. 8 And We send down water as a blessing from the sky, and grow gardens with it and the grain for harvest, 9 And the tall palm-trees having spadices closely set one above another, 10 As sustenance for the bondmen; and with it We revived a dead city; this is how you will be raised. 11 Before them, the people of Noah and the people of Rass denied this truth; and so did the people of Thamud. 12 And 'Ad, and Fir'aun (Pharaoh), and the brethren of Lout (Lot), 13 and the people of Aykah, and the people of Tubba'. They all gave the lie to the Messengers. Thereafter My threat of chastisement against them was fulfilled. 14 Could We, then, be [thought of as being] worn out by the first creation? Nay - but some people are [still] lost in doubt about [the possibility of] a new creation! 15
