The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 you pay attention 25 In this, behold, there is a lesson indeed for all who stand in awe [of God]. 26
