The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 when the buried infant shall be asked 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
