Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By oath of those which carry away while dispersing. 1 And those who bear the load (of rain), 2 which then smoothly speed along, 3 And the angels who distribute the affair. 4 Lo! that wherewith ye are threatened is indeed true, 5 And the judgment must most surely come about. 6 By the Sky with (its) numerous Paths, 7 surely you are at variance (about the Hereafter); 8 and are turned away from him who is turned. 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 Who are under a cover of heedlessness (think not about the gravity of the Hereafter), 11 They ask: When is the Day of Judgment? 12 On the Day of Judgment they will be punished by the fire 13 (And told:) "Taste your punishment. This is what you were trying to hasten." 14 [But,] behold, the God-conscious will find themselves amid gardens and springs, 15 receiving their reward from their Lord. They had been righteous people before the Day of Judgment. 16 Little of the night they were wont to slumber. 17 And ere the dawning of each day would seek forgiveness, 18 They assigned a share of their property for the needy and the destitute. 19 And in the earth there are signs for those who are sure, 20 And also in your own selves. Behold ye not? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and whatever you are promised. 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is certainly the truth. It is as true as your ability to speak. 23
