Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 Yet man is sceptical of what is right before him. 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 So when the sight becomes dazed, 7 and the moon eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon shall be joined. 9 On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! 10 But there is nowhere to take refuge: 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 But lo, man is well aware of himself, 14 Even though he were to put up his excuses. 15 MOVE NOT thy tongue in haste, [repeating the words of the revelation:] 16 Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). 18 Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof. 19 Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 Some faces, that Day, will beam (in brightness and beauty);- 22 Waiting for their Lord. 23 and upon that day faces shall be scowling, 24 so they might think the Calamity had been inflicted upon them. 25 No indeed; when it reaches the clavicles 26 and the angels say, "Who will take away his soul, 27 And he will realise that this is the parting. 28 and when leg is intertwined with leg, 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
