Y S (Yaa Seen)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Ya Sin. 1 I swear by the Quran full of wisdom 2 that you (Muhammad) are a Messenger 3 on a Straight Way, 4 [This is] a revelation of the Exalted in Might, the Merciful, 5 [bestowed upon thee] so that thou mayest warn people whose forefathers had not been warned, and who therefore are unaware [of the meaning of right and wrong]. 6 Assuredly the word hath been justified against most of them, wherefore they shall not believe. 7 We have indeed put shackles around their necks reaching up to the chins, so they remain facing upwards. 8 And We have set a wall before them and a wall behind them, and covered the top – so they are unable to see anything. 9 And it is alike unto them, whether thou warnest them or warnest them not; they shall not believe. 10 Thou canst [truly] warn only him who is willing to take the reminder to heart, and who stands in awe of the Most Gracious although He is beyond the reach of human perception: unto such, then, give the glad tiding of [God's] forgiveness and of a most excellent reward! 11 Verily We shall give life to the dead, and We record that which they send before and that which they leave behind, and of all things have We taken account in a clear Book (of evidence). 12
