Have you heard the story of the honorable guests of Abraham? 24 When those [heavenly messengers] came unto him and bade him peace, he answered, "[And upon you be] peace!" - [saying to himself,] "They are strangers." 25 So he turned to his household and brought a fattened calf. 26 and placed it before them, saying, "Will you not eat?" 27 Then he conceived a fear of them (when they ate not). They said: "Fear not." And they gave him glad tidings of an intelligent son, having knowledge (about Allah and His religion of True Monotheism). 28 So his wife came screaming, and striking her forehead cried, “What! For a barren old woman?” 29 They said: "Thus said your Lord. He is indeed all-wise and all-knowing." 30 ۞ Said Ibrahim, “What is your task, O the sent angels?” 31 They said, 'We have been sent to a people of sinners, 32 so that we may bring down upon them a shower of stones of clay, 33 marked with thy Lord for the prodigal. 34 So We brought the believers out of that they were in. 35 But We found in it only one household of those who had surrendered themselves, 36 And We have left there a sign (i.e. the place of the Dead Sea, well-known in Palestine) for those who fear the painful torment. 37 And in Moses (was another Sign): Behold, We sent him to Pharaoh, with authority manifest. 38 But he turned to his counsellors, and said: "He is a magician or lunatic." 39 We seized him and his army and threw them into the sea. He himself was to be blamed. 40 And in the 'Ad (people) (was another Sign): Behold, We sent against them the devastating Wind: 41 that left nothing it came upon, except that it was ashes. 42 And in Thamud's also was a lesson, when it was said unto them: enjoy yourselves for a season. 43 But they insolently defied the Command of their Lord: So the stunning noise (of an earthquake) seized them, even while they were looking on. 44 And neither stand up nor defend themselves. 45 And the people of Nuh We destroyed aforetime; verily they were a people transgressing. 46
