Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The Sure Reality! 1 What is the Inevitable? 2 And what will make thee realise what the Sure Reality is? 3 Thamood and Ad cried lies to the Clatterer. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the lightning. 5 and as for Ad, they were destroyed by a wind clamorous, 6 Which He made to prevail against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you might have seen the people therein prostrate as if they were the trunks of hollow palms. 7 Do you then see of them one remaining? 8 And Firon and those before him and the overthrown cities continuously committed sins. 9 and they rebelled against the Messenger of their Lord, and He seized them with a surpassing grip. 10 When the water rose in flood, We bore you in the ark, 11 making it a Reminder for you, for all attentive ears to retain. 12 So, when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 And the earth is moved, and its mountains, and they are crushed to powder at one stroke,- 14 Then on that Day shall happen the Event. 15 And the heaven will split asunder – so on that day it will be unstable. 16 The angels will stand on all its sides. And on that Day, eight (of them) will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 On that day ye will be exposed; not a secret of you will be hidden. 18 Now as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, he will exclaim: "Come you all!" Read this my record! 19 Verily I was sure that I should be a meeter of my reckoning. 20 Then he shall be in a life well-pleasing 21 in a lofty paradise, 22 The fruits of which are near at hand: 23 Eat and drink with benefit for that which ye sent on beforehand in days past. 24 But as for him who is given his book in his left hand, he shall say, 'Would that I had not been given my book 25 and had not known my account. 26 Oh, would that it had been the ending! 27 My wealth has not availed me. 28 and our belief has destroyed us". 29 Seize him and fetter him, 30 Then cast him into the burning fire, 31 Then thrust him into a chain the length of which is seventy cubits. 32 Surely he did not believe in Allah, the Great, 33 nor would he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 “So he does not have any friend here this day.” 35 nor any food except foul pus 36 which none but the sinners eat!" 37
