Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

Ruin is for every open slanderer, backbiter. 1 Who amasses wealth and considers it a provision (against mishap); 2 thinking that his wealth will make him live forever. 3 Nay, but verily he will be flung to the Consuming One. 4 Would that you knew what hutamah is! 5 The fire of Allah, that is ablaze. 6 Which penetrates the hearts 7 (And) vaults them over 8 In pillars stretched forth (i.e. they will be punished in the Fire with pillars, etc.). 9

God the Almighty always says the truth.
