The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the angels ranged in ranks. 1 And by oath of those who herd with a stern warning. 2 Then those who recite, being mindful, 3 surely your God is One, 4 Lord of the heavens and the earth and that between them and Lord of the sunrises. 5 Indeed, We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment of stars 6 And to protect it from every rebellious devil. 7 They cannot listen to the Highest Chiefs for they are pelted from every side, 8 Being driven off, and for them is a perpetual chastisement, 9 Except one who snatches [some words] by theft, but they are pursued by a burning flame, piercing [in brightness]. 10 So ask them for a pronouncement -- Are they stronger in constitution, or those We created? We created them of clinging clay. 11 Nay! you wonder while they mock, 12 And they do not understand, when explained to. 13 and whenever they see some sign, they ridicule it, 14 And they say: this Qur'an is naught but magic manifest. 15 What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we be resurrected. 16 and perhaps also our forebears of old?" 17 Say, "Yes indeed, and you will be brought low." 18 It will be only one shout, and at once they will be observing. 19 and they will say: 'Woe for us. This is the Day of Recompense' 20 This is the Day of Decision which you belied. 21
